Former WWE superstar Jeff Hardy is in the Moore County jail this afternoon after being arrested on charges of trafficking in controlled prescription pills and possession of anabolic steriods.

Hardy, 32, was arrested after a search of his residence yielded 262 Vicodin prescription pills, 180 Soma prescription pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine and items of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $125,000.

A joint investigation conducted by officers with the Moore County Sheriff's Office narcotics and select enforcement units and the Fayetteville Police Department led to the arrest.

Vicodin and anabolic steriods are Schedule III substances, while Soma is a non-controlled prescription pill.

Hardy was charged with felony trafficking in opium, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a Schedule III controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling to keep controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

This is why he didn't main-event Wrestlemania last year and why he likely never will...

Just a damn shame, but not surprising.

I can't say I'm surprised, either, but this is really a ridiculous rock bottom hit for this guy.

I have no sympathy for this.

What a sheer waste. His career is over but that's the least of his concerns. He's looking at a long time in the slammer if he goes down on all those felony charges.

Former WWE superstar Jeff Hardy was arrested at his home in Cameron, NC today where police found 262 Vicodin pills, 180 Soma pills, 555 milliliters of anabolic steroids, cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

Jeff Hardy just posted the following on his Twitter:

"Alot of exaggerations are out there today, don't believe everything you read 4 it is not true, I am at home and fine-thanks for your concern." The name "Jeff Hardy" is already one of the top trending phrases on Twitter.com.

TMZ.com has picked up the story and there are a couple new details to report:

-- Despite the large quantity of drugs seized at Jeff's home, the street value of the drugs is estimated to be around $2,500.

-- A source at TMZ reports that Jeff's brother Matt posted his bail, which was set at $125,000.

To me, to be a conservative means to conserve the good parts of America and to conserve our Constitution.
What's that, like four felonies and a misdemeanor or five felonies?

Either way, Jeff's screwed for a number of years now. He might as well enjoy "living in the moment" now while he can, before he heads off to the slammer.

What a terrible waste. Stupidity, thy name is Jeff Hardy.

McMahon must be elated that this didn't happen a couple of months ago.

I'd love for WWE to acknowledge this with a CM Punk promo.

If they are smart, they'll do just that...

CM Punk is gold...I hope the WWE realizes that instead of trying to push someone else like Jeff Hardy

WWE really dodged a close bullet, though, didn't they? Imagine if this had happened even just a few weeks ago?

Definitely CM Punk all the way. I wouldn't be surprised if Punk, in character, does say something. It really is just that obvious and begging for it.

Very lucky break for WWE in the timing of this thing for sure...

Words cannot even begin to describe the utter stupidity of Jeffrey Nero Hardy right about now though... just.... wow.

EDIT: Jeff is claiming on his Twitter page that Matt Hardy is just learning about this with the rest of us and did not, in fact, bail him out.

Guess we just gotta have to take a wait and see approach here to find out what's true and what's bogus with a story like this at this early stage.

If Jeff gives up his sources then he will most likey get 5 years max with the possibility of parole in 2. But most likely if he agrees to go to rehab and complete a program he wont serve any jail time at all.

This might be the best thing that ever happened to Jeff Hardy, maybe now he will get the help he needed.

I don't know about that. If he ends up being guilty on multiple felony charges...I don't know if he can escape jail time.

You'd be surprised Q.

You know the one thing that I find to be really stupid outside the obvious?

Who the hell jumps on Twitter after getting thrown in jail for multiple felonies? Doesn't seem like a top priority right after getting out of jail.

"Dude, I better remember to update my mood on Myspace."
