To me, to be a conservative means to conserve the good parts of America and to conserve our Constitution.

![]() One More Time? He has been called the most decorated superstar in World Wrestling Entertainment history. A multiple time WWE Champion, World Champion, Intercontinental Champion, Tag Team Champion, and a European Champion, the “Heartbreak Kid” truly is the Icon. After suffering a career threatening back injury in 1997, that worsened in early 1998, Shawn Michaels wrestled what everyone thought would be his last match at Wrestlemania XIV. After being out of the ring for over four years, Shawn Michaels made his return to the squared circle at Summer Slam 2002, taking on Triple H in a one-time Street Fight. The one time part didn’t hold true though, as Michaels wrestled at Survivor Series that year, and Armageddon. Now over two years have passed since Michaels returned, and he has become a World Champion, and main-evented Wrestlemania XX. Shawn had made a full recovery, and was back to wrestling a full schedule. Then came Monday Night Raw, the night before Taboo Tuesday, and Michaels was in a high profiled match. It was in this match that HBK tore his meniscus, an injury that will keep in out of action for over a month. But, the fans voted for Shawn to meet Triple H at Taboo Tuesday, and for that reason, Shawn went out and gave it all he could, to the distaste of some Internet “fans”. This leads us to two obvious questions. Is Shawn Michaels Still THE Main-Event? The question is simple, in and of itself, but to answer it, we have to look deeper into the question. Is Shawn Michaels still THE main-event? While it is clear that Michaels is the most over babyface on RAW, he simply cannot carry the show the way he once could. That’s not saying he doesn’t belong in the main-event, it’s simple stating that Michaels isn’t, and no longer has to be, the man or the main-event. New stars have been created, and other deserving wrestlers are finally be given their shot. Is there a place for HBK at the top? Absolutely! Shawn IS still the showstopper, the icon, and the man, but upon his return, a few months in the mid-card would be the best thing for everyone. Shawn still gives us some of the greatest matches, yet since his return, most of those matches have been against Triple H. Not taking anything away from their feud, as it has personally been my favorite feud, but there are many guys in the mid-card that Shawn could and would have great matches with. We’ve seen what he can do with guys like Chris Benoit, Randy Orton, and Chris Jericho, but on the flip side of that, is what would be what I feel even better feuds and matches. A feud between Michaels and Shelton Benjamin, Christian, Edge, William Regal, Eugene (drop the gimmick please!), Simon Dean, and I’ll go as far as to say Gene Snitsky as well, could all be huge and classics. This leads us into the next question… What’s Next for Shawn Michaels? Another fairly simple answer, with a much more complex answer. While I would love to see all of the aforementioned feuds take place, I actually believe the best thing for Shawn Michaels and for the WWE fans would be moving over to Smackdown. Despite the rumor going around about a trade (that has already been said to have been shot down), I do not believe a trade would be the best thing. IF Shawn were to go to Smackdown, then it should be after Wrestlemania, and should take place during the Draft. Having Shawn be drafted to Smackdown would eliminate having to trade a Kurt Angle. This in return would give us some great and memorable matches, and would open a whole new chapter in Shawn’s legendary career. Matches against guys like Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Charlie Haas, Rey Mysterio, Rob Van Dam, Carilto Caribbean Cool, and JBL. This could also lead into another feud with the Undertaker, as the two haven’t really had anything to do with one another since Royal Rumble 1998. A move to Smackdown would eventually lead to another WWE Championship, and could even give us Shawn Michaels as United States Champion, making him the only person to win all titles (hardcore title does not count, and neither would the Smackdown Tag Team Championship, though he could even win those too.). That is all assuming Shawn continues to wrestle, at least for another year or two, which I believe he will (unless he suffers another injury). But what hasn’t been taking into consideration, is the emergence of new/old people in the WWE. Naturally, Shawn Michaels versus The Rock is a dream match for many people, myself included. A potential Wrestlemania or Summerslam match between these two, could be the most electrifying match in quite some time, as both are among the most popular stars of all time. It’s difficult to say who would win, though I’d imagine that The Rock would pick up the victory. But, there is one more factor to be taking into consideration, and that is Shawn’s religion. Being a born-again Christian, Michaels may hold some influence over another born-again Christian, and a man who has never been in the WWE. That man of course is one of the most entertaining wrestlers and also one of the best wrestlers, the man known as Sting. For me, there could be NO bigger match than a Shawn Michaels versus Sting match. Since 1994, Shawn Michaels has been my favorite wrestler in the WWF/E, and Sting was always my favorite in WCW, and the influence behind the name and layout of this here column. This match would HAVE TO happen at Wrestlemania, as this would be bigger than Rock/Hogan. And it really wouldn’t matter who won the match, as there would be a huge amount of respect showed between the two after the match, and the fans will have been treated to a truly great match between two future Hall-of-Famers. As you can see, the future looks very bright for Shawn Michaels, who may very well be past his prime, but is still one of the best today. Regardless of where Shawn Michaels goes in the future, you better believe that he will continue to give 110 percent, and provide us with many more memorable matches. There are many feuds and matches that can take place, so the future of the “Heartbreak Kid” could and will get very interesting upon his return, and by return I mean return to the mid-card for a little while before heading over to Smackdown, and then having MY ultimate dream match with The Stinger himself. ![]() Road Rage: I Guess I Got A Bad Habit! You know they say driving is a privilege and a responsibility, so how come a licenses is just given to anyone? No knowledge of anything relating to driving is required to get a license, hell if you can keep the car in the correct lane, then you get a drivers license in America. But with this, there comes a problem, and it’s a problem I feel has become quite serious. You can blame many car accidents on teenagers, as statistics point to them being involved in more accidents, but there is a root to this problem. The problem not only lies within the driver, but the person who teaches the driver, and more importantly, the trooper that passes these people. Do you have any idea how many people really cannot drive in this country, the majority of them cannot. If you do not know what the f***ing right of way is, the you should not have a license. How about turning your damn lights on when it is either foggy or rainy. That is a serious problem where I am at, so I’m guessing it is in other places as well. But there are those that utterly piss me off, and they are the ones that generally lead to road rage. To the dumbshit that rides on peoples ass, back the f*** off. Damn, are too stupid to realize that someone may need to slow up and/or stop. Is it safe to do when the ass-licker is right on you?. No, why? Because you tap your brakes just slightly and the bastard is going to run all over you. If I didn’t want to feel out the police report and do the insurance thing, then I’d just slam on breaks and let you ram into me, cause you hit me from behind, so by law it is your fault. And the stupid f*** that makes you come to an almost complete stop from like 60mph, just so he can pull out in front of you and then turn five seconds later. Go to Hell man, you cannot be in that big of a damn hurry where you cannot wait for a car to pass by. I won’t even comment on old people, and/or retarded people. Though common sense should tell you that if you cannot see and hear, then you don’t need to be driving. Drivers Education people, pay attention or get a better teacher, and for the love of all that is holy, drive like you have some f***ing sense. Please! “When I go driving I stay in my lane But getting cut off makes me insane I open the glove box Reach inside I’m gonna wreck this f***er’s ride I guess I got a bad habit And it ain’t going away- Bad Habit by Offspring from the hit CD- SMASH” ![]() Dammit, you’re sad now because we have reached the end. Well, today is Wednesday, so I say XVIII will be out either Monday or Thursday. At any rate, this one was fun to write, for the simple fact that it was pure opinion. In all actuality I feel the chances that Sting will ever come to the WWE are very slim, so that knocks out my dream match. But the rest of it, I stand by. So while we’re doing the outro, lets look at what AVFR will bring you in the coming issues. AVFR XVIII: The Quest For Thy Golden Belt I, and the Top 5 IMO. AVFR XIX: open topic, (meaning I don’t know yet), Deadly Venom with? AVFR XX: I’m not going to be around to write twenty, so to hell with it. Well this one is now officially over with, I do hope you enjoyed it, if not then the next one should be. And a big welcome to our new moderators here in our beloved LoP columns forum, RAW is Snapple and Phantom Lord. Well I must now return to my cozy and comfortable adobe high in the rafters. I’m Stinger asking you all to join me here next time, for A View From the Rafters XVIII: FABLE- The Quest For Thy Golden Belt I. |
