To me, to be a conservative means to conserve the good parts of America and to conserve our Constitution.

Alright, with the price drop and the slim for $299, this is what I'm going to get as a Christmas present. I Googled this question, but could only get a range (like $2.99-$39.99). At the PSN store on the PS3, how much do PS1 Classic games cost? Specific examples being Final Fantasy VII, Guardians Crusade and Harvest Moon: Back to Nature? When it comes to FF7, I already own a copy and it sucks that it can't be played on the PS3, but I wouldn't be opposed to spending a small amount to download it. The VC is one of the reasons why I love the Wii. The N64 games on it cost $10, so I would hope these old PS1 games wouldn't be anymore than that. Edited by Stinger, Oct 23 2009, 04:32 PM.

PS1 games like FF7 typically run around $10 a pop give or take. They know they can't charge much more than that for these old games. |

$10 is the ballpark I was figuring based on N64 prices for the Wii. That seems fair enough. I wouldn't go any more than that though, especially for an old game I already own. Thanks Q. |

You're going to be real happy when you get this thing, some football, some wrestling, some Blu-Rays. $300 goes pretty danged far!

Yes I think so. I was looking forward to the Smackdown game for it, and still am (as well as the newest NCAA), but just today I've been reading and watching reviews on a game that just looks totally badass that has me stoked for finally getting this system. Will start a thread for the game in just a minute. EDIT Alright Q, Monkey, Sand, anyone else who has a PS3. Give me your recommendations for the "must haves". Looking across the various websites at the game scores, I see a lot ranked 8.5-10, so what would you guys say are currently the 5-10 best of the best. Note, I don't care about games like Rock Band, Guitar Hero, or DJ Hero. Obviously wrestling, and sports, but my main favorites being FPS, RPG and general action games. Both Uncharted games, both Resistance games, Infamous, Metal Gear 4, Little Big Planet, GTAIV (if you haven't played it yet. Ideally it's best on the PC if you have a gameworthy PC), Batman Arkham Asylum is awesome on any platform... stuff like that. |

I would second most of the ones that Q listed(haven't played Little Big Planet, not really interested in it either). I would add Killzone 2(the intro video alone is almost worth the price of admission...ok it's not worth that much, but it is pretty awesome), God of War 3 will be awesome(and the God of War 1 & 2 pack when it comes out if you don't already have those). |

I've played God of War 1 a little, but I've never owned or beaten it because I never got a PS2. I'm checking all of these to go read and watch gameplay on YouTube. Q, Monkey, you guys play games online with this? If so, which ones do you play? Cause when I get the new WWE game and the NCAA game, and I'm gonna wanna play you guys (granted I'd get my ass kicked, but play nonetheless). |

I'm a casual online player. If I have friends and regulars, I'll play with them. My PSN handle is Eric5676. |

Don't think Monk has a PS3, at least not yet. I don't play online. My net is fine for surfing and updates, but don't think it would work playing a game. |

Ah yes, Monk is 360. I'll make a note of your handle Q. Reading what you guys have been saying about the NCAA game and the WWE game, along with some others, plus my reading about various other games has me stoked enough for it that I went ahead and created a PSN account so I won't have to waste time that could be spent playing doing it. It's GLS486. |

Yeah, weird I haven't bought one yet considering I was a huge PS2 fan just waiting for something to come out and really make me turn the corner. Seems like next year will do it though so I'm thinking about scoring one with my tax return assuming I have enough leftover after putting a chunk into savings. Hard to say though because I'm looking at getting a smaller HD t.v. for my bedroom too so it's a matter of how much cash I get this year whether or not I can yet. Hopefully I can score both though so that way I can hook the PS3 up in the bedroom giving me a Blu-Ray player in the living room and bedroom; be a pretty good upgrade. I'm pretty much in the same boat as Stinger in terms of games though, I'd definitely be open for suggestions. I never played the Gods of War games so I'd be interested in checking those out, and Demon Souls looked pretty promising and tough which is also a plus. |

For FPS games try Resistance: Fall of Man , you can get it pretty cheap now since it was a launch title. It has a sequel which I need to get and apparently its better than the first, if you have a psp you might even want to pick up the sequel/spin-off Resistance: Retribution

I've been reading up on both of them, it's definitely on my list. And I don't have a PSP, but I may get a PSP Go later on. So the PS3 has demos you can download for free right? I love demos, and have always been disappointed that the Wii doesn't have any (despite the DS having them). How may demos do they have for download? Do they pull the demos from being downloaded after a certain time? How often do new demos come out? |
