Update On Floyd Mayweather Jr Investigation, Police Search Home For Weapon By Patrick Boucher Aug 24, 2009 - 12:52:32 PM In an update from a story that was posted earlier this morning, Floyd Mayweather Jr., who is set to Guest Host tonight’s RAW in Las Vegas had his home searched earlier this morning by Las Vegas police. Mayweather’s car was spotted at the scene of a shooting that occurred last night. The shooting took place at the Crystal Palace Skating Center sometime yesterday evening. According to TMZ, no one was injured in the shooting. According to KVVU, a search warrant was served at Mayweather’s home today. Several sources indicated that police were looking for the gun that was used in the shooting. TMZ caught up with Floyd Mayweather Sr., the father of Mayweather Jr. Sr. said his son had nothing to do with the shooting last night and that he spoke to JR earlier this morning. Mayweather confirmed that police searched his home for the gun, but didn’t find anything. Mayweather Sr. also revealed that Floyd’s car was spotted at the scene because he takes his kids there every Sunday to skate. For more information on this breaking story, head over to TMZ! |

Vince will love this. All they care about is this circus act of celebrity hosts so now Floyd will come in there with a bunch of extra notoriety to boot. I'm betting they reach out to Micheal Vick to be a host not too long down the road. You watch. |

I only half watched most of it. Highlight was Mickie James boxing trunks almost falling off on a number of occasions. Everything else was either over the top tripe, or business as usual fluff. |

Eh, I was entertained by what I watched. I thought the opening segment was pretty funny. I'm not tired of DX (again) yet, so I can stand for them to come out and do some comedy. It's better than Floyd Mayweather coming out and doing the opening promo. I liked the format a little bit better tonight with the guest host, as he wasn't so much an on-air focal point. Since Floyd had some actual WWE history, it was more entertaining to see them bring up his past issues with Big Show, eventually leading to a tag title match. I like the emphasis being placed on the titles right now. You've got the tag titles with new contenders, putting MVP in the spotlight. Speaking of MVP, he got a nice little push tonight. Hope that continues. You've also got multiple guys who want to be US Champion, as if it were an honor or something...so that's nice... Was still not a good Raw, but it was better than it has been in terms of the direction and focus... For instance, we now have several feuds that actually have reasons to be feuds... MVP and Henry vs. Big Show and Jericho...has a reason to be happening Orton and Cena...now has a reason to be continuing Legacy-DX...now has a reason to happen US title...has guys who want to be that champ |

One problem Chad. How many times has the US title been on the line in the last 2 months? Compare that to how many segments Santino and Hornswaggle have gotten. |

They will continue to get segments, especially Hornswoggle, unfortunately. They cater to kids now, and the kids like Hornswoggle. I don't want to see anyone lose their job, but I wouldn't shed a tear if they released Horny. It is what it is though. As long as the kids pop for Hornswoggle we can expect to see him (in ways that none of us would ever dare book him, sadly). I thought last nights show was decent for what it was. RAW isn't a wrestling based show like ECW and especially Smackdown (and even Superstars). It's a variety hour circus that still gets good ratings. I enjoyed the Divas match (Mickie looked awesome, and Beth did as well), the MVP/JeriShow/Mayweather segment and the subsequent tag match, and the main event was kinda meh but still okay. The DX/McMahon stuff at the beginning dragged on a little too long, but I still chuckled through most of it. |

See I didn't like the DX stuff, it's the same ole' stuff, the same ole' gags, the same ole' video. It's stale. |

I hear ya, Snow... But one of my main gripes about Raw in recent weeks and months is that there is no direction to anything. If two guys are scheduled to fight, it's just there...there's nothing interesting... Last night I saw some direction for a change... |

I think that in terms of an actual show, they did pretty bad since more than 1/4th of the show focused on Vince's B-day (which we all should've been expecting anyway) but in terms of direction and build they actually did a pretty good job. Remember how the last RAW just didn't build up toward anything but DX/Legacy? WITH the second biggest PPV on the WWE calendar a mere six days away? Yeah, I'd say RAW's interaction with JeriShow/Nation of Domination, DX/Legacy, and Cena/Orton was pretty good. Also happy to hear that Randy Orton doesn't need to develop some super headlock for his match against Cena at Breaking Point. |

Three matches announced. - Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz vs. Carlito vs. Jack Swagger for the U.S. Championship - MVP vs. Chris Jericho - Mark Henry vs. Big Show Those first two matches should be good, especially if WWE gives them time. Poor Kofi, he's in there with three heels who want his title... pretty good for RAW's midcard. I like it. |
