June Edition Part 2:

The Straight Edge Society:
What can you say about this group that their awful storyline has not said? What started off a a possible new version of Raven's flock, where young or unknown wrestlers seem to get caught up in the CM Punk influence and become a dark and powerful force seemed to dwindle, then burn out. Punk recruited two people, one woman with wrestling experience who could have easily been used in the women's division, and an enforcer who could have taken on anyone in the IC division. Neither came to pass. We then get Joey Mercury back, cloaked in a hoodie, coming out of nowhere attack Punk's aggressors, yet week after week, nothing happened. Not once was he revealed, not once did he wrestle, not once did this whole thing make sense! What should have been a short feud with Mysterio soon turned into a weekly snore fest, as somehow someway Mysterio got the upper hand on a 3 1/2 man team, doing everything but outright kill what could have been a strong stable. Soon we had the ever so predictable Hair vs Mask match, where unless you lick windows, you should have seen Mysterio winning. Mysterio's clothing sales, and the mask is marketable, you can't stop that for a storyline. So now Punk shaves his head. Where Kurt Angle tried his hardest to cover his head however he could with no success, Punk took a different road and wore a lucha-mask. While this was comical at first, we soon realized that he wasn't taking it off anytime soon, and it just made it that much worse. Why not have Punk bald headed? You are building him up as a cult leader, yet you cover him in a lucha mask? Are you joking? Punk soon had no storyline as Mysterio moved on to other things, Punk dwindled into nothing. We now find out that Punk needed surgery on his arm, and with him being out for 3-6 months, there is no room for the SES. As of last week Serina was kicked out leaving Gallows the only known member as Mercury was never exposed. It's safe to say the SES is done for good. Probably for the best.

The Intercontinental Divison:
While I am happy to see the IC division finally firing back up, the booking and storylines themselves make no sense whatsoever. Let me break them down per wrestlers:

-Drew McIntyre: While Drew is a great smug heel, he can lack in the ring sometimes, and quite frankly I believe this is why for almost 2 months, we never saw Drew wrestle, it was just sneak attack after sneak attack. Drew's character works well as the spoiled brat who feels he is the chosen one, and if you don't like it he will go snitch to the boss. McIntyre has fumbled around from feud to feud that reads more like a squiggly line than a straight one, there was no rhyme or reason to it. One week he is feuding with Kane, and two weeks later he is feuding with Matt Hardy, then Kofi, then Hardy, even MVP. Where was the booking team? Out getting a hot dog? To make a character they have to have a set time line, they have to know where to start and where they will end up. This was not the case, and Drew was stripped of the title. Probably for the best, as to be honest, while fans hated him, he had no purpose. Perhaps when he gets back from his visa troubles they can properly map out the character.

-Kofi Kingston: Kofi is to me the crown jewel of Smackdown. He is loved by the fans, appreciated by the Smarks, and is always entertaining. Thankfully the Jamaican character is gone, and a dangerous side has been added. He continuously has the best matches on the card, and is just fun to watch. While I like him being the figurehead of the IC division, I honestly feel a strong IC feud, followed by a shot at the World title is the best way to go. Time will tell if I am right.

-Matt Hardy: Here is the mystery of all mysteries. How in the hell, after all these years, has Matt Hardy never held a major title? How is it that he is equally as popular as his brother, just as talented, and not on drugs, yet Jeff gets two titles and matt gets the goose egg? Can someone explain this? Week in and out Hardy gets one of the top 3 pops for the crowd, one of the few chants, and always has a strong showing, yet he can't even where the damn IC belt? Are you joking? Let's also think about how his feud with McIntyre, while intense, seemed more like a weekly "Should we or shouldn't we" decision on whether or not to even use the feud. Maybe one day Hardy will get what he's worth, and wear the big gold.

-MVP: Talk about being killed for no reason at all, who's plant did MVP pee on to get shoved that far down the damn ladder? He came out the first 2 weeks, firing on all cylinders then suddenly he is jobbing and doing dark matches. Is this not the same guy that had one of the best rookie years of all times??? Thinking about it makes my head hurt.

Christian:
I don't think I have ever seen a more depressing use of a terrific talent, short of the Junk Yard Dog, Christian is possibly the most abused and underutilized talent in WWE history. He has charisma, ability, experience, and the title history to be in the main event every time, but more importantly, win every time. Yet, what do we get? We get Christian working as a pro on NXT for 2 seasons, we get Christian in random matches, not quality matches. It blows my mind when I think of just how horrible Christian has been handled over the years, but it blows my mind even more how he has had the restraint to tell the WWE where to go. If you can give Rey F'N Mysterio two title runs, the Great Khali a title run,why the hell can you not give Christian at least a 2 month run just to say thank you??? This is the one point, no matter what WWE does, that is just unforgivable to me.

Tag Team Division:
What tag team division? Correct me if I am wrong, but the tag champs are supposed to defend on both shows are they not? Not just Raw. I love the Hart Dynasty having the titles, but the Uso's are worthless at this point as they have no heat. You need to have Dynasty over on Smackdown wrestling Berreta and Croft as well as Archer and Curt Hawkins. Build a division on each, let the champs bounce from show to show, or just wrestle on Superstars.

LeCool:
If there was ever one storyline where two people died, I would push for it to be these two. I used to think Vikki Guerrero was the most annoying character ever devised until this double shot of diarrhea came along. Both are annoying, both are absolutely awful in the ring, and the fact that McCool came along in 2004 and still to this day is inept in the ring is just insulting. I guess when you are married to the Undertaker anything is possible. The bottom line is both are bad for business. You have a girl like Kelly Kelly, the all american girl, that actually can wrestle now sitting in stupid story lines with these two vomit inducing wrestling clusterfucks, and yet no progress is made, no new champion is crowned. Please for the love of God Beth Phoenix come back and destroy this wickedness before I get arrested for jumping the guard rail and hitting both of them with a steel chair.

The Undertaker
Go away Undertaker...just go away. Your day in the sun set about 3 years ago, you can barely move, you are now injury prone, and you hold down talent to keep your spot. You should be floating between the mid and World title cards in your own feuds....just like Triple H (Sweet Jesus did I just say that?!) I take it back, just like Shawn Michaels did. You don't need another title run. Your character is outdated, your entrance is long enough for me to piss and make a sandwich yet still have time to kick off my shoes. Maybe you almost catching fire at Elimination Chamber was God's way of saying "GET YOUR HAPPY ASS TO THE RING ALREADY!" Your time has come, hang it up or know your role, either way get the hell out of the main event. Ya dig?

Great rundown Snowman. It's quite sad to see all the wasted potential on SD right now. Even without the just plain bad luck like losing guys like Punk and Drew for the short term foreseeable future and the aforementioned roster raid that was the draft, just the plain mismanagement of the guys they do have has been nothing short of aggravating. This is a show in desperate need of a huyuuge overhaul once it gets to SyFy.
