As many people know, Shawn Michaels has never held an internet presence. Fortunately for fans, those days are now over as the multi-time WWE Champion has opened accounts on social networking sites Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. He also plans on launching an official website in the near future.

Putting the doubters at ease, Michaels himself released a video message this evening on YouTube verifying his presence online. His Twitter handle is located at twitter.com/ShawnMichaels_, while his official website is www.TheShawnMichaels.com. Regarding Facebook, he does indeed have an account on the social networking site but the exact URL has yet to be disclosed.

In the video message, Michaels gives two reasons for hitting the web. The first and most important reason is that he wants to keep in touch with the many fans who have supported him over the years and let them in on what he’s up to — and not up to. His other reason for forming an internet presence is because there are far too many impersonators online claiming to be him or his wife, particularly on MySpace, Facebook and Twitter. To reiterate, the only Michaels’ endorsed online accounts are noted on his YouTube page.

Proof that only bad things can happen when HBK gets near computers. ;)

Just clicking through some other youtube links after watching his little deal there. Very much a case of "ya don't know what you've got till it's gone" with him... as literally NO ONE active right now is half as much of a natural in the ring or in backstage stuff/interviews as HBK was...

That said though, hope he stays retired, as much as he could probably still be the highlight of WWE for another couple years, just look at Flair, it aint worth it.

I miss him
I don't think even I realized just how huge of a gulf there really would be with him gone and I think that gulf is larger than just him wrestling in the ring.

Chad said something a few weeks ago too that I'm convinced of as well: Shawn was one of those guys that could make these writers work for him and as consequence anything around him would benefit as well.

Think about when you drop a stone in the water...the wave effect works from the center outwards. That was Shawn on all levels. Everyone and everything around him benefitted.

I honestly have to wonder about the state of this product, at least on the RAW side, since he retired and wonder just how much of an impact his not being there any longer has made.

I'll even say as much for Trips although we know what a mixed bag that can be but let's face it: With BOTH of those guys out, RAW at least has clearly suffered for it.

JR even made yet another comment in his blog the other day about if Morrison could just bring it altogether he's probably the closest thing out there to a possible HBK successor some day. They need to have him drop some of the gimmick in his promos and just let the guy be an extension of himself like the best wrestlers that get over usually are.

Wow, I miss Shawn.

As much as I do miss him, though, I'm glad he went out on top basically on his terms instead of doing what Flair is currently doing.

So true especially now with the benefit of 20-20 hindsight and looking over that youtube video after having not seen or heard any Shawn since WM.

Wow, it really isn't even close.
