It was confirmed today during a UFC conference call that Randy Couture vs. Brock Lesnar will be taking place on November 15 in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Couture, who is still the reigning UFC Heavyweight Champion despite "resigning" from the UFC last October forcing the company to crown an interim Heavyweight champion in Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, will defend his title against Lesnar in a five round championship fight.

HOLY CRAP! LESNAR IS SCREWED!

That's bullshit.

Lesnar is 1-1 in UFC, has done absolutely nothing to earn a shot at the Championship. There are far more deserving individuals of getting a shot that have been completely passed over because of Lesnar's name recognition and Couture's.

Randy Couture is going to eat him alive, and it's not even going to be funny. Brock is not ready for that kind of a fight, he should be further built up.

On a side note, they definitely need to do whatever it takes to make Fedor/Couture happen, that will be the fight of the century and will break every record UFC has set to date.

They are doing this for 3 reasons: A.) If by some miracle Brock wins...he makes his career, and their stake in him gets bigger. B.) If Brock wins, he gets Coutures UFC title, and now he and the other champion can now have a title for title fight. Big money. C.) It's a way to get draw bucks from PPV.

I know why they're doing it, but I still think it's bullshit.

Brock Lesnar has done absolutely nothing in UFC to deserve a championship fight.

Ultimately they won't Lesnar/Mir II for the undisputed belt. Problem is I don't see Mir winning and though Lesnar isn't a slouch I don't think he's ready. Then again Coulture isn't getting any younger and Lesnar is freakishly strong so an upset isn't out the question I just wouldn't put money on it.

The other reason they are doing this is Dana White wants to do everything in his power to keep Coulture from being champ when his contract is up.

As for Fedor, I doubt he'll ever be in UFC or at least if he is it'll be far too late to matter. Shame too because he is the epitome of MMA heavyweight

^ I agree with all that.

Fedor though, damn I want to see him go against Couture though. I wouldn't even care if it happened in UFC, although it would be better if did. Fedor is the man, Couture is the man. At this point, I'm pretty confident Fedor would demolish him, but it's that epic dream bout in MMA that could still happen.

The fact that it probably won't happen though, is quite disappointing. It's something like Rock/HBK would be in wrestling, that is to say that it would be something special to say the least.

Couture will make him submit....simple as that.

I don't know, I don't think he would make him submit. Obviously I won't say it wouldn't happen, but I really think Fedor would take him. If it was Couture in his prime, I'd probably agree.

Prime or no prime though, Couture will demolish Lesnar. That's not even going to be funny.

No, I meant Couture will make Lesnar tap out, Fedor is a whole-nother can of worms

Oh, my bad.

In that case, I definitely agree with you then.

Sooner or later Couture's age has to catch up with him. I think it is very likely he will beat Lesnar, but I wouldn't call it the upset of the century if Brock managed to get in a lucky shot, or if he just ground and pounded him. Randy's not nearly as good at Jujitsu as Mir and had it not been for that expertise, Mir's face would probably still be in a million different pieces right now.

I hope Fedor will finally come to the UFC so the Randy fight can occur, or he can face the winner of this little mini-tourny.

^ That's my point too, Randy in his prime can beat Brock but this ain't Randy in his prime. So I'm not gonna go out and say Brock will win this fight, I'm just saying don't be surprised if it happens.

Of course. I think it's possible that Brock can win, I don't believe it would be a "Holy Shit! I can't believe it" moment. Randy is my pick to win, in two rounds or less.

I certainly wouldn't feel confident enough in that belief to bet more than a few dollars on it though. Brock has looked good in his previous fights. He definitely has it in him to beat Randy. I think he'll come up a bit shy though.

UFC heavyweight title contender Brock Lesnar spoke to Larry Pepe of 'Pro MMA Radio' last night about how he feels regarding the allegations that he uses steroids. Lesnar sets the record straight:

“I’ve been accused of using steroids my entire life, probably since the tenth grade in high school… I’ve never failed a drug test. Now if I was a black guy and I looked the way I do would I get asked this question a 100 times? I just happen to be a white guy that has some great genetics, so I guess that puts a bullseye on me… I’m a white dude that’s shredded and you don’t see a lot of it — a guy that’s walking around that looks like me.”

The 285 pounder was recently tested by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for illegal/banned substances for his upcoming fight with Randy Couture and passed. He will be tested again on or before fight night, November 15th.
